Digital Marketing is part of marketing domain or a carrier of marketing needs which provides a platform for interactive communication between consumer and marketer of product. Marketing starts the day when an individual plans to launch a product or a service. It can be any product , place or service.
Digitalisation helped in customisation of products and services during different phases of Production, Procurement, Delivery and Usage of Product and services. Digital Marketing made whole marketing concept as customised marketing solution of Product and services for consumer which saves time, effort and ultimately Profitability of consumer and supplier.

In the past Marketing channels were traditional and it only provided opportunities to marketer to make their known to consumers without knowledge of consumer’s requirement and needs.
With help of Digital Marketing, a marketing company get to know which consumer wants what product and if certain changes are expected by consumers in product then even, it makes feedback system easy enough for marketers to bring necessary changes in product according to requirement.
A proper digital marketer, knows needs, demand, expectation and paying capacity of a consumer before consumer gets to know it.
For Example as a students of Engineering Entrance exams, my brother started getting mails of coaching centres before he decided to join a coaching for IIT JEE.
As a potential buyer of books and notes for IIT JEE exams preparation, he started getting SMS in his mobile and was being shown advertisement while surfing social media networks like facebook .
He probably never noticed that , I as his elder brother never got those messages or mails or advertisements till the day he used my laptop to send a mail and he logged into his facebook account through my laptop.
Those SMS and advertisements which came to him or me (just because of being related to him) had played an important role in decision of taking admission in VidyaMandir. Although latter on with time we realised that it was no more same VidyaMandir.
Although as a consumer every one has his or her own right while choosing a product or service which they want to buy or use but Digital Marketing gives more efficient penetrating power to marketers.
Usage and Misusage of Digital Marketing will be a different issue as whole to discuss, because now a days strong Marketers are trying to create clutter in eyes of consumer and many of the times a consumer is shown only those products where profitability margin is high.
Different Media channels which marketers had been using in past were Traditional Medias
1. Print Media
2. Electronic Media
Traditional Media , never gave interaction opportunity to consumer and thus buying behaviour of consumer was largely different. A consumer who use to see and advertisement or read an article in morning newspaper had to pick up his phone and call to company for detail knowledge of product and then buying behaviour were getting determined. Many of the times due to odd hours of operation, marketers were in efficient in responding to those calls and this use to result in loss of consumer and thus loss of revenue for consumer where as a Digital Media gives many more opportunities to consumer. Now a consumer can get to know details of products on digital platforms, experiences of other users about those product and services and thus consumer is not just depended on Marketer to get information about that product and can even take buying decisions while marketer is in deep sleep.

Like many other fields, the Internet has played a massive role in changing the face of marketing completely. Advertising or marketing in general, is no longer a game of only the big-wigs. Newborn entrepreneurs can now also reach out to large audiences and popularise their product or services via Social Media Marketing (S.E.M). For example, an entrepreneur can easily create a page at no cost on Facebook thereby addressing a considerable mass of people and advertising his/her company’s brand. Other advantages of Digital Marketing are that the consumer can get instant information regarding a specific product/service which could be quite toilsome while adopting the traditional methods of marketing. The ability of Digital Market hitting targeted audience is an added bonus. When a consumer constantly searches for a particular product and then visits any site, advertisements related to the product pops up, encouraging the consumer to buy it.     The world has transformed into a very digital environment. In today’s life we perform many of our daily tasks as online banking & use e books also . Traditional media include posters, commercial advertising on tv,radio,billboards, brochures etc.
    The world of digital marketing is now continuing to advance. Digital media include things like websites, social media,you tube videos, emails, contents, banner ads etc. It is similar to traditional media but using digital devices. People may conduct an online search by reading the content that has been published online in the form of blog or articles. Customer relationships are built &maintained here through online activities, Now days people tends to go online for information on a new product, they can get general information as well as answers of their questions. Digital marketing has some benefits over traditional marketing such as it puts the consumer in control,increases satisfaction, provides convenience, build brand loyalty &also it is cost effective. Most of the digital marketing strategies have some objectives such as to reach the right customers, to engage with them,motivate &influence them to take actions.     By the help of Digital Marketing, a marketer can know what the demands are and can modify the content accordingly.
    A good digital marketer knows what a customer demands and before even the customer decides to make any purchases, and make him aware for the option which are to be marketed without getting in the notice of the customer.

    Digital marketing is better in various ways compared to traditional media, as those medium never considered the buying behaviour of customers.These platforms were dependent of marketers heavily and if a marketer isn’t available then a customer could slip but, in digital marketing customers could avail details of products in digital media and the chances of loosing a customer due to unavailability of Marketer is minimized.

    It has been a pleasant experience to enlighten myself with an overview of the marketing industry:
    Digital marketing is a part of that marketing domain which provides a wonderful platform of innovative interactive communication between consumer and marketer of products. Digitization does helps us in various ways. It has changed the way we view a product or the way we see a product or we buy it. This revolutionary approach is what we were waiting for all these years. The unique way of customizing product services during different phases of Production, Procurement, Delivery and Usage of Product and services are the key to the way now a day’s products and consumers are bonding.

    The special bond that a consumer shares with the product is nothing but the basic need they have without compromising the quality and service to whichever product they buy. A proper digital marketer, knows needs, demand, expectation and paying capacity of a consumer before consumer gets to know it. And that is the key of a digital market analyst to eventually do this.

    The beautiful example of how buy a cell phone within a price range of 20k to 50k actually involves so many various past and future analysis that could possibly earn the retailer and the manufacturer the perfect amount of money and at the same time keeping in mind the basic need of the consumer who is utilising the product .
